In 1971 the range at Templeogue was sold for building purposes leaving the Dublin Rifle Club once again with no shooting facilities, this was a devastating situation & many meetings took place with a view to finding another suitable range.

By 1972 suitable land was located on a yearly lease at Red Bog,Blessington,Co. Wicklow & in 1973 a new range was constructed with very little funds & shooting started again.
After a storm in 1974 the range was very badly damaged so we had to start all over again with even less funds. This range continued for 26 years until 2000 when unfortunately the land was no longer available to
us as a club.
After several unsuccessful attempts & many headaches, searching for a suitable range the club was lucky to procure a site at Ballyfolan,Sallygap,Co.Wicklow.

In 2001 work got under way to clear the site with JCB's and traxcavators to create a backstop & further worj was carried out to create a carpark. With the help & assistance from members of Balinteer Rifle Club, who donated a self contained unit was transported to the new range & then put in place. After the club purchased a stat office & canteen we were able to start shooting again.

Since its beginning in 1933 Dublin Rifle Club has overcome many obstacles and continues to flourish to the present day.
